VIRTUAL
Rest Without Guilt:
Healing the Unconscious Blocks That Hold Us Back
Wednesday, January 14, 2025
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM PST
What to Expect
Join us for a conversation with Dr. Jane Tornatore as we explore the unconscious beliefs that shape our relationship with rest.
Together, we’ll look at the invisible rules many of us absorbed in childhood, such as rules about productivity, worthiness, and being “good”, and how these early messages become powerful internal inhibitors that keep us from slowing down, even when we crave it. Through guided exercises, Dr. Tornatore will help us uncover the stories we’ve been carrying, reconnect with our bodies and intuition, and begin shifting the language we use with ourselves.
This interactive session will invite participants to examine what feels “allowed” for others but not for themselves, practice a simple body-based method for recognizing their internal yes and no, and notice how different words land in the body. You’ll walk away with a deeper understanding that difficulty making change isn’t laziness, it’s old survival programming and practical tools for working with the unconscious mind, tuning into bodily wisdom, and gently reshaping inner dialogue.

About Dr. Jane Tornatore:
Dr. Jane Tornatore is a brain geek and self -compassion expert based in Seattle, WA. As a coach, therapist, speaker, and author, she works with intelligent, motivated, high-achieving women who are committed to being better people, yet, they never feel better ENOUGH. Women who want to finally like themselves and stop second-guessing their decisions. What separates her from other coaches and therapists is her down to earth, humorous, practical, and SIMPLE approach. And because of this, her clients become aware of the unconscious beliefs that keep them stuck and unsatisfied, so they can choose thoughts and actions that actually work for them rather than making them feel like crap. She received a Master’s degree at the University of Illinois, and a PhD at the University of Minnesota. She has authored over 20 articles and published a book—Everything is Perfect, Just Not ME! A Roadmap for Self-Acceptance.
