Audacious Living at All Ages

What does it take to thrive at all ages? Perhaps a little audacity, courage and positivity.

We will hear from three women who are living it up in their “third act of life”. At 86, Rosanne Cohn is updating her popular book, ‘Discover Washington with Kids,’ which was first published more than 40 years ago. Assunta Ng isn’t retiring anytime soon as the founder and publisher of the acclaimed Northwest Asian Weekly. Martha Johnson is 81 and an eco-warrior, traveling the world with EarthWatch and helping conservationists and scientists. How have these women kept their daring and courageous spirit throughout their lives? Find out as we take an audacious journey through their stories.

About Rosanne Cohn: Rosanne is a retired public relations consultant who managed her own business for more than 25 years. She is still active through her writing and volunteer work. She is a published writer and getting ready to launch the fourth edition of her family guidebook, DISCOVER WASHINGTON WITH KIDS.

About Martha Johnson: Martha started her career at an advertising agency, working on products ranging from the heart-lung machine to molds for plastic gallon milk jugs. In retirement she has traveled from India to Australia to the Czech Republic to the Amazon with Earthwatch, an organization that puts research scientists and grunt workers together to work on projects all over the world.

About Assunta Ng: Assunta Ng is a Chinese American community organizer and the publisher of Northwest Asian Weekly and Seattle Chinese Post. She was born in China and raised in Hong Kong. In 1971, she immigrated to the U.S. to attend the University of Washington. She worked various jobs to keep afloat and wrote for the Daily newspaper. After graduating with a teaching certificate and master’s degree, Assunta taught social studies to children of immigrant families and became aware of the lack of information available to the local Chinese community. In 1982, Ng founded the Seattle Chinese Post with her own seed money. A year later, Assunta founded the Northwest Asian Weekly.
