From strengthening your heart with the foods you eat to moving everyday, Dr. Annabelle Volgman will share steps you can take for a healthy heart and brain for American Women’s Heart Month. She will also cover the importance of understanding symptoms of heart disease that are unique to women.
Dr. Volgman is co-founder and medical director of the Rush Heart Center for Women in Chicago, the first heart program in Chicago devoted exclusively to women that opened in 2003. She has been working with leading neurologists on the heart-brain connection.
Dr. Annabelle Santos Volgman is a nationally-recognized leader in cardiology care and research, and formed a unique relationship with leading neurologists to study the heart-brain connection. A fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, Dr. Volgman has dedicated her career to helping women and their families lead healthier lives through prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Volgman received her undergraduate degree with honors from Barnard College and her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Chicago and was fellowship trained in cardiology and clinical electrophysiology at Northwestern University.
