Women + Alcohol: A Complicated Relationship

From that twice-weekly zoom happy hour with co-workers, to book club (‘wine club’), to ‘mommy juice’ - the relationship between women and alcohol is complicated. We are led to believe that having nightly cocktails is normal, that we work hard in the office and at home – so we deserve the after-work, after-the-kids-are-in-bed glass of wine – or two - or maybe more. But when is it too much?

Erica C. Barnett is an award-winning political reporter, turned author, who details her addiction to alcohol and her path towards sobriety in a new book, “Quitter: A Memoir of Drinking, Relapse, and Recovery.”

Erica will be joined by substance use disorder professional, Jenny Finley, for a conversation about alcohol, addiction and the stigma and shame associated with women and addiction.
