Women in Politics: Looking Toward November

November’s elections are right around the corner and women are taking center stage.

Historic numbers of women are likely to win. Historic numbers of career Senate and House members are expected to lose to younger women and there is a dramatic increase in the number of women of color winning in federal and state offices.

Women are voting for women. And a new majority of young voters are voting for women. Why is this happening? And how do we help it take place? Join us as Seattle women’s political advocate Cathy Allen gets real and discusses the likely advantages women can expect in Washington state.

About Cathy Allen:

Cathy is the National Vice President, National Women’s Political Caucus, President of The Connections Group, Inc. and Co-Founder, Center for Women & Democracy in Seattle.

Cathy Allen has recruited, trained and elected over a thousand women all over the world. One of the first international women political consultants, Cathy has dedicated her practice to helping women gain equal access to public office – not only in America, but in 49 countries worldwide. She is a former New York Times reporter and a frequent TV political commentator. She serves as National Vice-President for Education and Training for the National Women’s Political Caucus creating training manuals, curriculums and campaign trend updates for women worldwide.
