A Revel Retreat to Remember

Guest post by Sarah Sheard, Vis Vitalis Yoga, + RevelEleven Retreat co-host.

Earlier this month I had the great pleasure to co-host a RevelEleven retreat in Roslyn, WA with Joanie Parsons. I had no idea when I met Joanie that it would lead to such an epic connection that would facilitate such an enlivening weekend. This sacred time set aside to place value on self and transform was felt by all who attended.

It’s always a perfect group, everyone that was meant to be there was and the sense of divine feminine energy in all of us was palpable. I came into this retreat with a lot of love, joy and thankfulness. My dream has always been to share the tools that have equipped me to survive and thrive in life, with others. This weekend was just that, the willingness of the group was felt, and I got to share the tools that have changed my life.

When I first walked into the yoga studio I was taken back by the moment. I found myself in a beautiful space doing what I had always dreamed of doing, I was overcome with emotion. I knew I would watch each person transform throughout the weekend.

I couldn’t wait to witness the unfolding of the outer shell and the old stories that we have believed about ourselves fall away. Who we can be when we let our guard down, ignite our truth and give ourselves permission to let go. It’s always a joy to watch as a facilitator the transformation even within the faces of your students. Their lighter, more vibrant, more attuned to who they are. And when you’re in a group as I was this last weekend, it was a fierce thing to behold.

The food was perfect, nutritious organic meals made with intentional hands. The location, a quaint town with an abundance of character and charm. The home perched on the hill with a perfect view of the valley couldn’t have been more picturesque. I felt blessed to be in such a place.

Throughout the weekend we touched on all aspects of ourselves. We shared our stories naturally with one another. We moved our bodies in the art of yoga and dynamic movement. We enriched our vibration with a powerful sound bath. We created mantras out of pain and into liberation. We made dream boards and with curiosity honored our own unique path. And the beds were comfy! What more could you ask for?

I reveled in the opportunity as I drove to Roslyn, and I was sad to leave. But the seeds that were planted by all of us that weekend will grow into beautiful trees, strong, vibrant with roots far and wide. We will experience the essence of what was born that weekend in our lives and bravely watch it unfold. I am grateful to say the least. I am eager to continue to grow with this group of Revelers as we grasp this beautiful life with wonder and enlightenment.`
