An Art-Filled Life: Robin Layton Shares Her Home, Creativity + rain (In-Person)

We had so much fun last year touring the art-filled home of award-winning photographer Robin Layton and hearing about her career that we’ve decided we are going back! And Robin has a new project to share with us. Whether you are a pluviophile or not, you are going to love her new book, “rain”.

This special evening includes sipping wines poured by Brook and Bull winery in Walla Walla, listening to Robin share her creative journey in her art-filled home, and mingling with other RevelEleven women.

Robin’s body of work ranges from taking photographs of celebrities (Jennifer Anniston and Oprah Winfrey), presidents (Barack Obama), royalty, and people on the street. Now she is showcasing images of rain! Many might think rain is a nuisance, Robin however, finds the beauty in it and has been photographing rain in its many forms for most of her life.

Over the past decade, she accumulated a deluge of rain photography that planted the seeds for this book. Her work took her around the world, and the inclement weather became an opportunity for her shoot in the rain in many locations: Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, Texas, California, Hawaii, Wyoming, China and Japan.

On April 6th, we’ll get a sneak peek at Robin’s new book, “rain”. 146 stunning, evocative photographs that explore rain in all its vastness and intimacy, allowing us to view it from Robin’s perspective. This labor of love takes us from deep forests to crowded city streets, as Robin shares the majesty and magic of rain.

Brook and Bull winery will be pouring their wines for the event, and will have bottles for sale. Plus we will be serving light appetizers. You will receive directions and parking information after you register for the event. We are limiting attendance to 35 people. We hope you can join us!
