Upset is Optional - Saying Goodbye to Unnecessary Suffering (Virtual)

Can getting upset really be optional? Join us on May 30th at 8:00 am PST as we meet with author Karen Howard to better understand the connection between the language we use and the physical response these words have to our health and relationships.

Karen is the best-selling author of Upset Is Optional – Say Goodbye to Unnecessary Suffering and she will share with us some practices that are not complicated, easy to do and can reframe our thoughts, our happiness and our relationships.

About Karen Howard: Karen, an advocate at heart, is originally from Springfield, Missouri. She has now lived in Washington, DC for more than forty-years, working as a Congressional Committee staff, lobbying for health care issues, and working for various professional and trade associations. Life changed dramatically for Karen in 2001, after 9/11. Her mid-west sensible worldview was deeply shaken. She needed to be more, give more and live more meaningfully. A new journey began and led her to Tai Sophia, the first accredited acupuncture school in the U.S., and its founder, Bob Duggan.

Karen’s pursuit in the school’s Applied Healing Arts program was transformative. Bob’s last gift was to hone his work into a series of simple practices in an apprentice program. Each practice is centered on understanding that how you feel in your body will impact your thoughts, actions, and health. Bob taught Karen how to breathe and changed her life.
