How can we address climate urgency with art and storytelling? Two close friends and acclaimed authors of prose turn to poetry to express the wonder and climate urgency of our times. By sheer serendipity, their first poetry books will be published at exactly the same time and by the same press this fall.
Join writers Ana Maria Spagna and Sarah Van Arsdale to learn how, as poets, they can celebrate what's small, confront what's difficult, and nurture the creative value of wildness, collaboration, and laughter. They'll talk about the role of nature and friendship in making art and truth telling.
About Ana Maria: Ana Maria Spagna is an award-winning environmental writer, a four-time finalist for the Washington State Book Award, and a former backcountry trail worker who lives with her wife, Laurie, in the North Cascades.
About Sarah: Sarah Van Arsdale is the author of five books who has lived and worked for years in the Catskills of New York State. They both teach creative writing in Antioch University's low-residency MFA program and at workshops and conferences around the country.
